In spite of massive rises in the power of computers, there is nothing on the market now with the same functionality as the legendary Sinclair Spectrum, which used to allow users to play games or write simple programs on it within seconds of switching it on. It must surely be possible to build a modern equivalent with better graphics and high speed for just a few pounds. The old audio-cassette storage could easily be replaced by a low cost memory card (none of the programs were more than 32kbytes). It would surely appeal to a whole generation of kids who have learned to play with computer games but have never tried to write a single program themselves.

About me
Female Biotechnologist
For 33 years, I’ve worked at the cutting edge of technology, wandering freely through its vast realm, harmoniously blending the rigorous with the sensitive, the analytical with the empathetic. I’ve advised thousands of clients, always embracing a full-system, full life-cycle perspective, drawing on intuition and accumulated knowledge to navigate the nuances of social and geopolitical dynamics. My tapestry of work weaves together STEM fields of female health, AI, biotech and synthetic biology, evolution, IT, machine consciousness, quantum theory, quantum computing, security, space launch technologies, renewable energy, sustainability, architecture, and transport.
I also contemplate the softer areas of our lives – beauty, makeup, cosmetics, fashion, love, feminine hygiene and life transitions. I’ve made well over 2,200 inventions across those fields, documented in my book ‘A Futurist Invents’. I’m dedicated to inspiring and supporting more diversity in these areas too, and we certainly need more women futurists and engineers.
My book ‘Women’s Health Technology‘, covers AI and female biotech for our feminine hygiene, fertility, sex and menopause, that would work in our bodies alongside active skin, EDNA, synthetic biology and cybernetic life forms to keep us healthy.
It also includes methods for early diagnosis and potential cures for our major diseases – breast cancer, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer, heart disease, strokes, neurodegenerative diseases and endometriosis.
In quiet moments, I let my creativity flourish through acrylic painting, songwriting and composing music. I find great joy and empowerment in artistic expression. I just published a book about Achieving Emotional Connection through Intimate Dance and am now writing one on female fashion and wellbeing.
I am a Chartered IT Engineer, a Life Member of the BCS and Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. I have previously held 5 fellowships of academic institutions.
I’ve authored 24 books.

that’s the idea with chrome OS… no hard drive (just flash memory), as the idea is all applications for it are on the cloud… therefore it boots in a flash…
can’t wait.

The OLPC has proper programming tools to teach children, and with Sugar on a stick can be run on PCs etc.
You are right about boot time; even mobile phones take ages to get going.

OK. Your data everywhere anytime. But I have also private data i just don’t want to share.
2nd – no 3rd part software
OK Google are awesome guys. But if they don’t trust me, by not letting me choose my software why i should trust them. That’s what they call trusted computing
3rd – no internet = no login.
Ok It’s for mobile devices but there are places where there is not connection or i just want to watch movie and turn of wifi/gprs/3g/.. because of the battery. Without internet it becomes useless piece of plastic and whatever
